In addition to our proactive policy efforts, Landis+Gyr is actively monitoring federal funding opportunities for our partners, which includes grants, loans, research and development, laboratory partnerships, and other programs. Since the historic passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, and CHIPS and Science Act, unprecedented money is available to modernize the U.S. electric grid. Landis+Gyr has identified over 30 new programs that may support our solutions, and we expect more to be announced soon.
Landis+Gyr’s Director of Regulatory Policy and Industry Relations, Marguerite Behringer, has been featured on several webinars and publications on funding available via the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) grants.
Here are a few valuable resources to watch and read more:
Companies that applied for GRIP Funding in Round One can share their experiences with applying for funding, and provide feedback. Participants will shared lessons learned and analyses of how to structure successful applications.
With electric cooperatives securing about $650 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) program, experts Marguerite Behringer and Lauren Khair share insights on crafting successful applications for the upcoming round, emphasizing themes such as wildfire resilience, microgrids, renewables integration, and community impacts, essential for securing future funding.
Landis+Gyr works with a variety of trade organizations to stay on top of regulatory trends and utility business models, including the realization of customer benefits. Reach out to Marguerite.behringer@landisgyr.com if you have any questions or concerns about state or federal regulatory issues.
One set of regulatory tools was published by the Department of Energy’s Voices of Experience series. Here are a few that may be useful:
Enhanced reliability, safety, and the growing adoption of distributed energy resources (DER) require more than traditional meter-to-cash capabilities. Revelo is a true grid sensor, providing unprecedented insight and control through industry-leading waveform data technology, offering superior edge computing capabilities and a greater ability to sample, process, store, and deliver data to the right places in real-time.
Landis+Gyr, through our subsidiary Rhebo, offers a robust cybersecurity solution that draws on years of experience, cutting edge technology, and learnings from a broad customer base. This enables us to provide unparalleled stability and agility for our customers in the areas of both threat mitigation and regulatory compliance.
The G480 Ultrasonic Smart Gas Meter, designed and built from the ground up by Landis+Gyr, is an all-in-one ultrasonic gas meter that delivers advanced smart technology solutions in a compact, flexible, and proven meter, based on 30 years of global leadership experience and installation of 10 million smart gas endpoints.
