Zug, Switzerland, 17 August 2010 – Landis+Gyr, the world’s leading provider of smart metering solutions, has signed a major contract to enable Finnish utility Turku Energia Sähköverkot (Turku Energia Electricity Networks) to complete its rollout of smart metering to its entire customer base. Turku Energia Sähköverkot’s investment not only fulfils legislative requirements, but also im- proves the efficiency of the utility’s internal processes and customer service portfolio.

Cooperation agreement will enable the deployment of smart, fully open and interoperable end-to-end energy management solutions in Portugal and Spain, two of Europe’s fastest growing smart grid markets. US$250 million raised in the past 12 months for the leading smart grid company

The transaction is expected to close by mid-April 2010.

Million meter contract for electric, gas smart meters to save British Gas customers more than £200m by 2020
