Energy Consumer Research at the Edge
The rise of smart devices has fundamentally transformed consumer expectations around products and services. Landis+Gyr wanted to see if this has affected their behaviour with respect to energy technology, so we engaged Essential Research to survey 1,000 consumers around Australia to find out.
What we found has implications for energy retailers across the country, including:
- 68% of consumers believe energy companies should supply more information about how to better understand and control their energy use
- 69% of consumers want to know more about what they can do with their smart meters
- 88% of consumers expect to receive an alert when energy usage suggests they have a faulty appliance.
Download the report to read more compelling findings around Australian consumers’ attitudes to disaggregated or device level electricity readings, the safety and security of their energy data and whether they really do feel in control of their energy usage.
