zations, companion specifications have been traditionally developed by
the very largest utilities or by utility associations. Alternatively, associations
of manufacturers, such as the Interoperable Device Interface Specification
Associtation (IDIS), provide companion specifications and testing to offer
interoperability of their products.
Achieving interoperability requires commitment from all stakeholders and
industry players. Landis+Gyr is actively supporting international stand-
ardisation initiatives and adheres to the principles of open standards and
interoperability.
