Landis+Gyr to Hold Biennial Latin America Meeting

Expertise 2019 to follow success of two previous events

Curitiba, BrazilJuly 26, 2019 – Landis+Gyr (LAND.SW) will hold its biennial meeting for South America, Expertise 2019, on Aug. 7-8, 2019. The event will bring together federal government representatives, regulators, and leading executives from South America’s technology, metrology, utilities and energy sectors.

“This event has become a forum where industry experts discuss the impact of technology on the regulation and management of distribution networks,” said Marcelo Machado, CEO Landis+Gyr South America. “In this edition, we aim to bring the future to the present by discussing business models for network modernization and ways in which regulatory advances can foster smart metering and automation investments. Topics will include interoperability and interchangeability between technology platforms. Our conviction in the Network Modernization process has driven us to become the first manufacturer in Brazil to, starting in 2020, integrate its communication network platform with other meter manufacturers, as well as to focus on the production of smart devices vis-à-vis conventional electronics.”

The event will take place at the Royal Palm Tower Anhanguera Hotel in Campinas, São Paulo, and will include the participation of Martha Gabriel, an internationally renowned expert in technology and business transformation, who will deliver a keynote address on “Digital Transformation.”

Landis+Gyr believes these types of events are critical to advance the efficiency and versatility of power distribution networks, and consequently promote consumers’ engagement with technology in a connected world.
