Landis+Gyr Releases Enhancements to Gridstream Smart Grid Solution: Latest energy management technology showcased at European Utility Week 2013
Zug, Switzerland – October 15, 2013 – Landis+Gyr, the global leader in smart metering and grid management solutions, today announced availability of the latest release of the Gridstream® solution. Gridstream is Landis+Gyr’s future ready, end-to-end smart grid solution that combines metering, communications, network management, software, grid and consumer applications, and professional services in a single secure and integrated platform. It is based on an open and standardized architecture that allows for regular updates to its core modular components to better serve AMM customer needs.
With cutting edge hardware, software, training and services, the new release includes a number of technological advancements to the existing solution portfolio:
- Extended industrial and commercial meter support;
- An introduction of the IEC interface in the Gridstream head end system to enable easy integrations;
- A launch of new services for improved system performance including, Gridstream Maintenance Service, Gridstream System Health Check, and Integration and Reporting services – all designed to enhance system operation; and
- Integration of the new S650 Smart Grid Terminal for low voltage network monitoring.
The S650 Smart Grid Terminal is one of the major new hardware components to be integrated in the latest Gridstream release. It provides energy companies with increased awareness of power quality and energy losses on low-voltage networks as well as of the state of the transformer station. Installed in distribution network transformer stations, the S650 Smart Grid Terminal can help prolong the operational life time of this equipment.
The upcoming Gridstream solution release will also include a series of system enhancements in network and smart metering operations, such as usability improvements in searching and viewing metering point information.

The release is featured with solution demonstrations at European Utility Week in Amsterdam. Landis+Gyr and parent company, Toshiba, is joining forces to showcase how their joint solutions optimize energy management processes. Additional product and solution highlights, like the latest Gridstream MDMS software release 3.2, upcoming enhanced PLC communication security in HES, scalability performance improvements, as well as their combined expertise and collaborative efforts in the smart grid area are showcased at the joint booth in the exposition area (Hall 1 – Booth A11).
