Landis+Gyr among the top ten European clean tech companies
Findings indicate that amongst the companies listed in 2010, energy efficiency has overtaken solar as the hottest sub-sector within clean technologies. Jon Stretch, Executive Vice President Landis+Gyr Europe, said: “We are pleased to see our long tradition of innovation and expertise recognised. This nomination encourages and inspires us all to continue working towards the 20- 20-20 goals set by the EU. To respond to global challenges and ensure an energy efficient future, we need both a modern business model and the most up-to-date technology, all of which Landis+Gyr has.”
According to the report, Landis+Gyr’s high ranking within the section entitled “engagements” – which lists international corporations known to be a stakeholder in two or more companies on the 2010 Global Cleantech 100 list, either as a customer, partner or investor – can also partly be attributed to the volume and development of its professional collaborations and partnerships with other players in the increasingly crowded smart grid space. “No one will succeed alone in this area; making the right strategic partnerships work will be a key success factor determining the winners and the losers in the shake-out that will eventually come as the race for a smart grid future runs its course over the coming years,” added the study.
This year the research company received 3,138 nominations drawn from sector specialists in 50 countries, 218 companies were presented to the expert panel for final consideration and 100 were included in the review. Only independent, for-profit, cleantech corporations that are not listed on any major stock exchange worldwide qualify for assessment.
