Current Trends in the Electric Power Sector will be Discussed in the Expertise 2017 Event Promoted by Landis+Gyr
Curitiba, July 27, 2017 – Landis+Gyr will hold the Biennial South America meeting, Expertise 2017, now in its second edition. The event will bring together executives from energy distribution companies and industry experts in the areas of regulation, innovation, and technology to exchange experiences and discuss trends in this market. The central theme this year will be "Challenges and Opportunities of a Changing Environment," with panels and presentations on the impact of new technologies and regulations on the distributors' business model in the face of new realities such as Smart Grids and Distributed Generation. The event will take place at the Bourbon Convention Ibirapuera Hotel in São Paulo on August 2nd and 3rd.
This second edition of the Biennial will bring to the attention of the public issues such as the regulation and impacts of the white tariff (differentiated pricing by hourly band), and the analysis of distributors on the impact of new technologies and regulations on their business models. Regarding new technologies, the topics that will be discussed include the interoperability and digital transformation of electrical networks, as well as the reliability of these networks that have an application of analytical software, which generates information to improve its management and efficiency.
In light of the success of the first edition, which was held in Rio de Janeiro in August of 2015, with debates that took place on measurement systems to combat commercial energy loss, Landis+Gyr hopes once again to contribute to the debate on important issues for the advancement of the electrical power distribution sector in South America.
