ReadMe for Landis+Gyr MAP110 Package Release 3.4.20 Date: 25.03.2010 1. Description -------------- The Landis+Gyr MAP110 service tool is designed to read and set device data of Landis+Gyr meters via the dlms and the IEC protocol. Additionally various analysis and diagnostic functions are available. 2. Most recent changes, enhancements and bug fixes -------------------------------------------------- Changes to release 3.4.20 - TOU: The sending of TOU data loaded from file is working again. - TOU: Changes to the TOU ID now take effect immediately. Changes to release 3.4.18 - Communication: After the hang up of the modem the last display remains active (e.g. profile readout). - Communication: Various enhancements in stability to avoid crashes and blocking. Changes to release 3.4.14 - Setup: Check for updates directly possible from MAP110 if an Internet connection is available. System Requirements ---------------------- - Supported operating systems: Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP - The following system components which are not part of Landis+Gyr MAP110 must be installed on your computer: - .NET framework 3.5 SP1 - Internet Explorer 5.01 or later - MS Excel 2000 or later must be installed for extended analysis. 4. First Time Installation -------------------------- In order to install correctly Landis+Gyr MAP110, a) ensure that you have administrator privileges on your PC b) start 'setup.exe' c) follow the instructions of the setup wizard 5. Upgrade ---------- 5.1 Upgrade of a former Landis+Gyr MAP110 3.4 release to the most recent release 3.4 The newest release 3.4 automatically replaces any former release 3.4. All data including the license and the communication profiles is kept. Procedure: 1. Start the installation procedure (start setup.exe) and confirm the upgrade. 2. Restart the computer 5.2 Upgrade of Landis+Gyr MAP110 3.3, 3.2, 3.1, 3.0, 2.x, 1.2 or 1.1 to the most recent release 3.4 The new release can be installed in parallel to a former release 1.1 and up. In this case for the installation a separate directory is required. It is strongly recommended to uninstall the old release because it will no longer be supported. All data including the license is kept. Procedure: 1. Uninstall old release 2. Install new release (start setup.exe) 3. In case of a parallel installation select a different directory 4. Restart the computer 5.3 Upgrade of Landis+Gyr MAP110 prior to 1.1 Former releases are not supported anymore, an upgrade isn't possible. 6. Known Restrictions --------------------- - When using reading heads with USB connection it might be that the program is blocked. In such cases either the USB device must be removed or the PC must be rebooted. If the problem persists it is strongly recommended to upgrade the affected USB driver. - The first startup of Landis+Gyr MAP110 can take quite long (5-20 seconds) depending on the performance of the PC because the .net environment must be initialised first. - In case of parallel installation of releases prior to 3.0 the communication profiles are lost. 8. Languages ------------ The tool is available in English or German. The language must be selected at installation time. 9. Licensing ------------- The software is not copy protected, everybody is allowed to install a demo release with limited functionality. To obtain a valid license please contact your local Landis+Gyr representative. 10.
