Landis+Gyr and Syd Energi continue their cooperation in advanced metering in Denmark. The companies have signed a contract on expanding their AIM Metering Management solution of 156 000 metering points with additional 90 000 metering points as a turn-key delivery.
The large scale deployment of the additional metering points will be finalised in 2009. The ongoing AMR project of a total of 246 000 metering points is one of the largest projects in the Nordics. It covers both rural and city areas.
Syd Energi appreciates the fully electronic data processing of all data measurements, surveillance and monitoring controls of the power grid and possible implementation of preventive action in case of specific overloads in the grid.
The solution includes electricity meters that connect via low voltage Power Line Communication, GPRS and LAN communication to the Advanced Meter Management system. In addition, the solution enables a vendor independent, multi-energy solution with options for flexible use of wired or wireless to district heating meters and metering devices for other forms of energy. Besides reading Syd Energi's own customers' energy consumption data information, the system enables service provision for other heating and water companies operating in the same region. It also enables reading the load profile of all residential customers.

Landis+Gyr in the Czech Republic is setting up the biggest ICG measurement readout center in Europe with the Czech utility CEZ.
PiteEnergi was looking for a comprehensive and cost effective solution to fulfil monthly reading requirements. Landis+Gyr Enermet's solution met their requirements and was chosen to deliver the system, devices and training. Automatic meter reading has proven to be the only cost efficient way to improve customer service. Therefore PiteEnergi will introduce automatic meter reading for its all 20 000 customers.
