Protocol Support

The Gridstream DA network is able to interface, manage and transmit various SCADA or byte-oriented protocols in a secure and reliable manner. Each utility typically has a unique variation of communication protocols used by different devices.

Using encapsulation, the Gridstream network can transport data in any protocol through the network for use with any application. Network radios have a proven track record with common protocols, such as DNP3, DF1, ModBUS, ASCII, PG&E2179, ABB, PSI, CHK, Gridsense, and more. Protocol conversions are done within the radio, so that information can be received from a device in its native protocol and then transmitted to the host system using a differnt protocol.
